Everybody needs somebody

 It's totally crazy, but in English everybody, everyone, and everything use singular 3rd person verbs -- just like he, she, or it.  Think of everybody (or everyone or everything)  as one big group (it)...

Everybody needs water.

Everyone tries to live well.

Everything is getting better.


Everybody Needs Somebody -- same song, but easier to follow lyrics. No capital I's...

In formal English, we write "Everything is going to be all right."


What things are important for everybody?  What does everybody need to do?
