Good Job

Grammar is good for your inner coach.  You can learn how to say 10,000 things correctly in a few minutes if you remember the rule and can make many examples.

For producing English, relax and repeat until you remember.  Songs are good for repeating.

In this song, you matter means you are important.  It doesn't matter = It's not important.

Grammar I want you to know before high intermediate  (Low Intermediate Grammar)  Practice have in present tense and memorize a lot of irregular verbs.

Write about things you can do well.  What do you say when someone asks, "What are your best skills?"

Make you feel my love

Are you planning for Valentine's Day?  What are you going to do?

Picky English teacher note:  Most of the time, you shouldn't say, "ain't," but "you ain't seen nothing yet" is a common expression that promises amazing improvement.

make your mind up = decide something=make a choice

What makes you feel loved?  I like when my husband brings me coffee in bed or when my children hug me.

Please come back!!

It's time to register for the next class.
You can register before new students until March 13.
After March 13, you can only register after new students if the class is not full.
Since it's very easy to get stuck at my level, my level often fills up fast.

If you started with reading and listening in my level, one level should take one year,
but people that had good English instruction before this class sometimes move up faster.
If reading or listening started below my level, it takes a lot of practice
reading or listening before you can move up to high intermediate.

Are you looking forward to the weekend?  What do you have to do?

Melancholy Baby

Green Group vocabulary

Melancholy is a very old word for sad or depressed.  People don't say "melancholy" anymore.
When I am sad and anxious, I don't like people telling me that my fear is foolish.  We don't say "fancies" for daydreams either.

Cuddle up means hug together for a long time.

One idea of clouds with a silver lining is that those clouds have the sun behind them.  Sometimes if you keep going during bad times, good times are right behind the bad times.

What makes you feel better when you are sad?  What is a good way to cheer up a sad child?

Challenge Video: A Day without Immigrants

I didn't hear about this event this morning. Do you think it will help people?

Demonstrations are people getting together to say their opinion as a big group.

Many immigrants work hard and make this country better for everyone here.  It is my goal to make immigrant's lives and new jobs easier.  I want my students to be comfortable and happy in my community.  I don't want anyone feeling scared or in danger.

What are good ways to support immigrants now?
